ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS & DEADLINES

The William Zimmer Prize in Art Criticism is open to students currently enrolled in either an Undergraduate or Graduate Fine Arts program at any college or university in the US. Recent graduates will be considered eligible if the exhibition is scheduled in your area shortly after graduation. PhD candidates are not eligible. You must submit an entry form prior to the submission of an essay.

Deadlines for submission of essays are 30 days after the closing of the exhibition at the venue selected by the student on his or her entry form. Winning entries will be announced approximately 30 days after the submission deadline.

 Finished essays should be approximately 1,500 words in length.

The $1,000 and $3,000 prizes are being awarded by the artist’s patron through Larry Powell Management in Northern Ireland.
